Christmas!!!

Christmas is only on week away! can you believe it? my family just put up the christmas tree, and we got our house decorated. for christmas eve, my family has a party either with other people our just with ourselves. then we come home and stay up late watching a movie. then all the kids go to sleep, and we wake up kind of early. we always have to wait for my dad to get up, because he sleeps a long time and they like us to open presents as a family. I usually wait in my brothers' room so i'm not waiting by myself. Then my mom comes and gets us, and tells us that we're ready to start. We line up from youngest to oldest and walk out to the living room. My house isn't big, so its not a very long walk, it's just down the hall. Then we start with stockings, then we hand eachother the presents and wait for everyone to open them. Then the rest of the day, we watch the movies and play the games we've gotten. Then we have Christmas dinner, and we usually have ham and then the rest of the food is pretty much the same as Thanksgiving dinner. What do you guys do for Christmas?
Here's some pictures of our tree

Oh and by the way, last weekend we got our first good snow fall of the season! I wish i would've gotten more pictures, but I only got one and its not very good.

HELLO,
Thanks for sharing your family traditions.
Today is December 19. In Ukraine it is St. Nicholas Day. Younger children are looking forward to that holiday as it means that New Year is coming soon and then Christmas. Besides they get presents from the Saint. Usually the children find the gifts beneath their pillows. Some children write letters to St Nicholas asking the presents, others write to Father Frost. But nevertheless they get presents from both. Christmas on January7 is also the day of getting and giving presents.
Sincerely,
Larysa Stepanenko, Ukraine

Thanks for sharing with us your family traditions for Christmas. Well my family and I also wait for everyone else to open our presents, we open them at the same time. We have a dinner like we do every normal day. On Christmas eve, we sit together at the table and see the video of the life of Jesus Christ that shows on channel 34. When there's that much snow on a school day, do they close school for the day or do you still have to go to school?

Wow, thats amazing how North California had snow fall. Down over here in Southern California we got a bit of rain, only for about whole week. We are still expecting more rain as the days pass, but untill then it is very cool and fresh. I think our traditions are very interesting. We also have similar traditions over here with our familiys. Well hopefully we get snow fall, and hopefully we hear from you again. Later -
