Hey! So I'm all set up now. My name is Katie and I live in Northern California. It sounds like it would be just like any other place in California, but it's not. There are no beaches, and rather than surfing, most people snowboard and ski here. There are so many pine trees here you feel like your drowning in green. The neighborhoods are smaller, and the crime and violence rates are very low. It's a place where it takes an hour to get to the mall, and if you want to by brand name clothes, you buy them online. People are generally friendly here, and you can wave to anyone, and most of the time they'll wave and smile back. For the most part, it's a quiet place to live. Some of the things to do are go see a movie, go to the lake (we have at least 5 here), snowboard or ski, walk around downtown, hang out at parks. If you really want to do something, then you will have to drive to get there. The communities are very strong here, you know your neighbors pretty well. I live in a gated community, so we have a lot of rules. You can't ride skateboards or motorcycles in here, you have to get anything your going to build approved first, and we have security patroling at all times. Sorry, this is kind of a long post. So Friday was Halloween, and it was very rainy here. Most kids here trick-or-treat in all the different neighborhoods. Some kids go the the House of Horrors, which is a building at a park where they decorate it very scary and put in our Drama kids from my high school. The kids walk through the rooms, and the drama kids scare them. They are in costume and hide all throughout the "house". I didn't want to go out in the rain, so I did my mom a favor and took my little brothers trick-or-treating. Hope you didn't fall asleep while reading this!

Hey dare Katie, My name is Janet, I live in Santa Ana California. I think is cool that you have to buy your clothing online. Right here we don't have to, we could just go walking because the stores are like so close. We don't have that much of pine trees. We dont have security patroling here most of the time and it will take like around 35 minutes to get to the mall from were I like. We could also ride our skateboards and motorcycles in here at all time, but we do need an approved first if we want to build anything. Oh and NO I did not fall asleep while I read what you wrote!! :)

I love the snow and I will love to learn how to snowboard and ski it souds fun, I love to try out new things.That is kind of not far if you want to buy brand clothes you have to order it on line.I love brand clothes specially VOLCOM STONE.That's not fear that you cant ride skateboards and motorcycles since I ;ove to skateboard.But by one part it's good that they are have rules to have a good place to live and you can feel save.Oh and NO it wasnt long ,I think long is like writing 2pages long.

I wonder, Katie, how is whether over there different from our whether here? I hope you enjoyed taking your brother and sister trick-or-treat and no I didn't fall asleep when I was reading your post. I like reading about people's culture and yours was the best I've ever read. I wonder if you have celebrated any holiday because I have celebrated almost all holiday. What kind of holidays do you like? I like Valentine’s Day and Christmas Day because it’s when all our hearts are filled love, joy and happiness when we are close to our loved ones.

maria- during the summer, our weather is pretty much the same, but we have COLD winters, and get snow. and i love christmas! its by favorite holiday bc everyone is happy and usually nice to each other lol.

Hay Katie , my name is Jesus I was wondering if you could post a comment about your school and how it is. security is not always around when you need him or her. Getting to the mall isnt a really big deal it is just that I don't really go to the mall. Some malls close really late. Enough about malls, I hope that you post a picture of your school.

That is sad that you live so far from the Mall,I live really close from the Mall I get there loke 5 or 10 minutes.I live close from 3 parks and I always go over thiere with my friends family and boyfriend.I like to go to the beach but I dont like the part when I get sunburn Thats the part that I really hate.Here in Santa Ana is really dangerous.Where I live happens alot of bad things because theres a popular gain.I will like to live were you live because you said its quite and almost nothing happens over there.

Hey Katie, my name is Andres and I live in Southern California, Santa Ana, California to be exact and no, your post didn't put me to sleep while reading it, it wasn't long. I wouldn't mind living in a place like Northern California with the neighborhoods being quiet. Where I live it's usually noisy because all the little kids are running around, playing, having fun, and of course making a lot of noise. It sounds like a nice place where you live, but if someone has a hobby or homework that involves building something or something needs fixing in a house, do you actually have to get it approved first before building? What also has to be approved first before doing? It takes an hour just to go to the mall? Wow, that's a long time, where I live it only takes like twenty to thirty minutes to go to a mall around here. How's school like over there in Northern California? Is it the same or different from school over here in Southern California?
